Usui Reiki Ryoho is an energy system of healing on all levels. Let’s call it Usui Reiki for short reference. It comes from the Japanese words “REI,” meaning spirit, soul, Universal God and “KI,” meaning life energy force, breath of life. This style of hands on healing was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui a medical doctor who was a kind, well read man, with a vast knowledge of medicine, psychology and theology of religions around the world. In the late 1800s he went to Mt. Kurama in Japan to meditate. During his stay there, he had a profound spiritual experience that led to the knowledge of a healing energy technique he called Reiki. Basically, Reiki means “Healing with Divine Spirit Energy”.
The body’s energy flow can stagnate where there has been physical injury or even emotional stress and pain. In time, these energy blocks can cause inflammation, stagnant lymphatics and possible chronic illness. A Reiki treatment aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture and acupressure. Reiki healing helps stimulate the flow of energy around the body enabling deeper relaxation, open the lymphatic system, relieve pain inflammation, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of chronic illness.
I learned Reiki to Master teacher level over twenty years ago. And in the last 8 years I have learned extensively about the lymphatic system and how it works and how important it is to focus on it. I happily offer traditional full Usui Reiki sessions in my office and long distance.
I do teach Usui Reiki as well.
My daughter Nicolette and I trained together under the same Reiki master Jan Wright in Chico CA. We are partnering together as a mother and daughter team to offer a highly energetically healing session we call 4-Handed Reiki. Both Nicolette and I treat a client with Reiki at the same time. This is wonderful for deep healing and releasing blockages that may have been difficult to release. We are thrilled to be bringing this to our clients.

The lymphatic system is comprised of the speen, thymus, appendix, tonsils, lymph nodes, lymph vessels, and lymph fluids. The lymphatic system is the body’s sewer system and one of the most vital systems in the body. It’s tasks includes removing cellular wastes, removing excessive fat, soluble compounds from the gastrointestinal tract and serving as the containment of the immune system. It creates white blood cells and antibodies providing them the area for the immune cells to clean up unwanted intruders. The lymph system also transports nutrients to various parts of the body.
It can become congested with excessive mucus and lymph from negative thoughts and emotional traumas, poor eating and breathing, sedentary lifestyles, stresses, drugs, alcohol, mistreating yourself and the list goes on. A common example of congested lymph is sinus and lung congestion, memory problems, digestive disorders, inflammation, acidic conditions, sores, inflexibility, headaches, poor digestion and so on. The lymph is so important, but often it’s over looked.
A good place to start when you may not be feel well is look to the lymphatics.
Ask yourself is your lifestyle stressful? If so work on changing it.
Are you consuming more alkalizing foods? Get a pH food chart and check out the foods you eat. You want to consume mainly a ratio of 80% alkaline to 20% acidic with severe issues more to 100% alkaline.
Are you taking time to deep breath everyday?
Are you going for walks everyday? Stretching your body as well?
Are you doing things you love to do?
Do you meditate? Yoga?
You get the idea?
Helping your lymphatic system is actually very enjoyable and the benefits will be a healthier and happier body.
Lymphatic Reiki is a Reiki Master technique I use to open up the major drainage points of the body. It’s a mix of cranial sacral therapy and Reiki.
During treatment, I gently place my hands on the major lymphatic drainage areas to open them up, allowing any blockage and stagnation to be more efficiently eliminated. Often clients may feel very relaxed, feel energy movements in the body and/or have a need to deep breath(which is encouraged because deep breathing helps move lymph.).
I do offer this as a stand alone session or I can will incorporate it into other therapies I offer.
I teach individually or to small groups a profoundly effective Self Lymphatic Drainage(SLD) practice. This self therapy may then be perform in the comfort of home or anywhere as long as it’s peaceful and the person does not get disturbed.
I teach information on the importance of self maintenance which builds self confidence, self empowerment and trusting of the body’s processes.
Learning this practice and doing it often will enhance healing, athletic performances, flexibility, sleep and digestion. Everyone is different in how the process of healing progresses, but I have experienced better flexibility, strength, mental clarity and enhanced digestion. I know of people who do this practice who have improvements with symptoms from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, IBS, anxiety, hairloss, eye conditions, migraine/headaches, skin issues, and more. It’s a great practice to do even if you feel good. It will enhance the feeling of well being and increase the efficiency of the immune system.
